It seems that throughout the world we hear about the
declining fish populations, water contamination, and litter issues with our
waterways.
As divers, we have an unique understanding of
the aquatic environment and are better suited to explain this than anyone else
in the world. The problems facing our aquatic world will continue to
increase unless the diving community plays a role in helping to educate the
general population. Divers can play a role by participating in
organizations, such as the Ocean Conservancy to help others learn more about
our oceans and waterways. More importantly, divers can physically
make a difference by participating in local water cleanups or environmental
studies.
Please take a moment to view the following
links to see how and where you can play a role in preserving the playground that divers cherish so much,
while enhancing the homes of its' aquatic inhabitants.
